[Tip] makes office 2016 smoother

Many friends have started using Office 2016. Although the new edition compared with the 2013 version of the surface gap is not large, but still may encounter some problems in use. 1. Refuse to automatically load a blank window

The root cause of this problem is the compatibility problem with Backstage view and Excel 2016. Open the Excel Options dialog box, switch to the Save panel (Figure 1), and then close the dialog box when the right pane cancels the open or save file without displaying Backstage check box. Reopen the Excel workbook without opening a blank window at the same time. You can then reopen the Excel Options dialog box, re-enable the <c0>do not display Backstage when you open or save files</c0> check box.

2. Message cannot preview Excel attachment

Workplace users generally use Outlook to process messages, but unfortunately Outlook 2016 does not normally preview an attachment in Excel format, and the mouse clicks will display information that cannot be previewed. The attachment of Word, PowerPoint, PDF, and so on can be a normal preview. Initially thought to be the Trust Center Setup problem, open the Outlook Options dialog box, switch to the Trust Center panel, click the Trust Center Settings button on the right pane. Open the Trust Center dialog box, switch to the Attachment processing panel, click the Attachments and Document Preview button on the right pane, and you can see all the enabled previews (Figure 2), and the Microsoft Excel Preview is impressively in the eye. Do you want to open an Excel attachment every time you need to read it?

This problem can be solved by modifying the registry. Jump to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\ClickToRun\REGISTRY\MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\PreviewHandlers", which is the location of the preview settings for all Office components, First right-click to select export for backup, and then modify the key value data for each string in the right pane:

Reopen Outlook 2016, and you can now preview an attachment in Excel format.

3. Word cannot set the linkage page number

Previously, we often set the "page number of pages" effect for Word documents, but in Word 2016, you can't find the option to insert a few pages in a few pages directly, and we can take the following approach.

Double-click the footer area, enter the footer editing interface, or switch directly to the Insert tab, select Footer in the Header and Footer feature group, and drag the slider down (Figure 3), select the "grid" or "semaphore" style here, and then you can insert "1|1" or "1/1" in the footer, and then you only need to manually add the "First", "page", "Total", "page".

Small tip:

Word 2013 also has this problem. The old version can also use the following common method: Entering the footer edit interface, manually entering page and total pages, positioning the cursor between "subsections" and "page", switch to the Insert tab, select WordArt → fields in the text feature group, open the Fields dialog box (Figure 4), select the number category, select the page field in the list box, and the page number format can be determined as needed. Positioning the cursor between "subsections" and "page", selecting the "Document Info" category, inserting the "NumPages" field, will soon get the desired effect.

4. Inefficient extraction of information

In the past, we extracted the pure Chinese characters from the table with low efficiency. The "Semi fork", "large Bottom", "heel", "hook" and so on (Fig. 5), the effect is not ideal because of the character length varies, either by the formula or by using formulas. If you still use the old method in Excel 2016, work efficiency is still hard to improve.

In fact, Excel 2016 has a more efficient method of inputting. First, in C column C2, C3 cell, respectively, manual input half fork, big bottom, note must be purely manual input, next when the C4 cell entry "followed" after the word "after", the following "heel" and B4:B16 all content has appeared in the Hint screen, click Enter, all data will be automatically entered. If you don't find these hints, open the Excel Options dialog box, switch to the Advanced panel, and check the Auto quick Fill checkbox in the right pane.
